Synopsis

A Journey To The Heart, written in first person is narrated by its two protagonists: Ian Summors, a 25-year-old Indian American boy, and Yana Seth, a 23-year-old Indian girl. The book is solely dedicated to the irrevocable and passionate love of the protagonists whose lives have been gripped with tragedy, pathos and trauma. The book opens with the escape of Ian and his younger brother Ryan from Seattle (U.S) to Shimla (India). They are being introduced by Yana’s neighbour, Dev Koshi, who asks Yana and her friends to help the brothers settle in Shimla. As the story moves, Ian falls for Yana’s invincibility and covert fragility. He is passionately in love with her, while she is not. Yana is confused. She is afraid to be in love because she fears losing him. She has clutched on to her melancholic past for so long that it doesn’t allow her to fall in love. But Ian's love moves her and eventually she confesses her love with a passionate kiss. But tragically, things fall apart when Ian has to go back to Seattle. His sudden departure brings a howling turn in Yana's life. But soon, he returns breaking every aristocratic shackle and finds ‘the love of his life’missing. What could have happened to Yana? If she is still alive, then where is she? But, if she is dead, then what happens to Ian? How will things end? Will the lovers reunite or will they be lost in time like others?

The narrative style is bit confusing, and only after reading few lines one will understand the context.I personally don't feel that story line is compelling enough for me to read further. But that's my own opinion, will still congratulate the author to write her heart out. Best of luck...

The best part of this book is that Ananya the author, has used realistic words being used in day to day English conversation. The story has come out from core of Anaya's heart......indeed a pleasure to read.

Story is good, narration is good, but could be made better for at times it is confusing and difficult to figure out who is who. Having said that, i think the book can be pulled off by planning each and every chapter in advance and figuring out what emotions and events are going to be a part of that chapter. Good. Could be better after rectification of grammar and minute errors in sentence construction. All the best..!

I'm kind of anti-romantic person and very finiky about reading romance genre. To me NIcolas Sparks is most passionate writers whose writing style is beyong the grasp of today's modern romance writers. As recommneded by a friend, I initially abhored the idea of reading. But as I turning the pages over and ovr I didn't realize that when I got down with the last page. It was an amazing experience. I laughed at many points; which is not easy for a writer to make readers laugh ike that. I LOVED the spontaneity in dialogs. The narration of the background was super beautiful. One thing I found low was exagerration at one point- when Yana had a conversation with her friends when they ask about Ian an Ryan. May be it was a bit of girly talk that made me said so. But on a whole, it was a startling start. Really appreciate the idea of blending the forces of two worlds to one place. Good luck to the author. Waiting to read further. I recommend all the lovers of romance fiction to read it. A MUST READ!!

Peeping into a differnet world of romance the author has succeeded to give the real feel of modern modern love in the background of classis times. The narration is captivating. The description of protagonists is superb. I can visualize them quite easily. And ofcourse, the thought process behind dialogs is hilarious. The promptness that a humour should have is rightly justified. I'm curious to know Yana. I may be wrong, but I presume her self-conceitedness will invite her own bad luck in the later chapters. I'm pretty excitedness to know what happens next. Especially, how the love will ooze out between two opposite poles. HAving said that I do belive in the theoy of 'opposite poles attract each other', but in this story I'm looking forward to see how things will go. In a nutshell, great work Ananya. You have succedded building the curosity. Now, I'm getting restless to read more. haha..

A romantic story in shimla! Wow! One thing I want to ask the author, the things you have mentioned are actually not there in Shimla. I mean, I found one place similar, not the other places. But, narration is superb. I enjoyed it. I like the way you showed cottage and pine trees. Good luck! I’m looking forward to read more.

Arpit, you are the first one to ask that question. Even I was curious why none of the readers didn't pick it out? Though the background has been set in Shimla, but the places are all imaginary. I've never been to Shimla but I've always visualised this place the way I've narrated in my story. I hope it do justice with the 'yet -to-discover' beauty.

There were too many adjectives in the very first page which did not keep my attention. Also, there were some minor tense problems in the first chapter, and some cliched dialogues. However, it becomes extremely interesting and gripping few pages after the second chapter starts. The story ends on a very gripping part and I would love to read more of this! Good job

Yes, I used adjectives in the narration, but not many a times. The adjectives were used keeping in view the need of the moment. It just went with the flow.
Since you have pointed it out, I'll definetely look over it again. May be you are right. :)
And as far as minor tense issue is concerned, then yes, I too figured it out on three points, though later. I'll make edits once the book will be selected to get published.
In the midst, thank you so much for reviewing my story :) I hope you'll enjoy the rest of it, when published:)

Nice concept, I must say. A different love story it will be. I like Yana’s name. A love story generally starts with a fight and ends with flying colours. But after reading the synopsis, I’m confused how will it end? So, this made me read the chapters. And now, I WANT TO KNOW MORE AND MORE!

Honestly, by reading the name of the novel I had this feeling that it will be a very emotional love story. But now, after reading the first three chapters, I doubt if it would really be sad story. I mean, it is more humorous than being romantic. I want this pace throughout the story. Sadness might spoil the plot. Uh, I am not being judgemental. As a reader, I’m just expressing my opinion.

Expecting this style of writing from an Indian author is bolt out of the blue. At least to me! Your writing style has got a standard. The story line- Amazing! Background- Well described! Characters- Ian is damn good! I'm gonna love him, I know. One thing to be bet upon is the ROMANCE. And, what a fight! Bravo! I just missed the pop corn while visualizing their fight.

The Book is undoubtedly a mus-read for all! Very well crafted story-line and even more wonderfully narrated. The time frames, the locations for the story and the coming together of two entirely different worlds and the course of events that follow are in unison for voicing the maturing and expertise of the author. I have not been a avid reader especially of such romantic genre(more specifically the overrated Indian romance) but by reading these 3 chapters of this book I seriously think My perspective might change until the book finishes. The relationship between Ian and his younger brother has been very well explained by the author, especially there is lot of clarity in showing the emotional bonding between the two brothers. Also the first small fight between the two main protagonists of the novel, Ian and Yana embarks the starting of a topsy-turvy relationship between the two. I have by reading these 3 chapters already started to feel some intuitions regarding lots of twists and revelations that are going to occur during the course of the story. But till now, had a great time reading the 3 chapters each written in a picturesque language .Kudos to the author for explaining the scenes in quite a lucid language and portraying each scene in such quintessential manner. Looking forward for next set of chapters . Kindly post them soon !!!!

It would be an achievement if this story changes your perception for romance. I'm happy to now know that you liked the bond of Ian and Ryan. I really enjoyed portray it. This looks like the kind of book that I would really love to read. The way the author has framed the story and plot, it is admirable. Cross-border love stories hold a certain kind of charm as they bring cultural fundamentals into focus, which in turn, are a source of great amusement. The story has been very well scripted by the author. The narrations are up to the mark and the writing style is top notch . The style in which a scene is narrated is excellent with a rich use of vocabulary. The characters are interesting. Since the story is in its nascent stage one could only predict the next few chapters. I wonder how Yana would come out of her ego now , and apologize accordingly to Ian. Her next move would definitely decide how their relationship would mould further in the future. I love the chemistry between the brothers so far. I believe the author would introduce new interesting characters in the chapters to come. The writing style of the author ( as I can infer) is quite unorthodox for an Indian author. I feel quite elated to read the quintessential work of a budding Indian author who could match the International standards. I am really looking forward to read the next chapters and would definitely give my money for its paperback version. Prodigious effort !

As I was reading the story, the most important thing that grabbed my attention was the peppy bond between Yana and Zen. As I have a friend like him. You know, I have shades of Yana, but I found her a bit irritating. I found her agile. She doesn’t even know why she ran in the woods. She is stupid infront of Ian. Ofcourse, Ian is too good.

Very good beginning. But one question, why did you show Yana so fanatic and conservative? Can't wait to see what chemistry builds up between yana and Ian.
