We know that the thought of designing a cover may be a daunting one.
But it's not as hard as you think it is!
There are all sorts of creative ways to design your cover.
Bright Idea # 1
Use your digital camera if you're a good photographer. Click a picture and make that your cover.
Bright Idea # 2
In both cases, it is very important for you to know that you've got the license to use the image or not. For instance, if you want to look for an image on Flickr, go to the Advanced Search option, type your search term(s), and then click on "Only search within Creative-Commons licensed content".
The images you find thereafter may require you to give appropriate credit to the photographer. Please ensure that the credit is duly given.
Bright Idea # 3
Next, you need to use some good looking fonts on your cover. Check out www.1001freefonts.com or www.dafont.com to download really cool fonts for free. You can google free font download and you'll find plenty of other websites like these.
One thing you need to remember is that your cover will be seen by people as a smaller image (on the book's page) and as a larger one on the eReader. Therefore, the title of your book and the author's name has to be in large, easily visible fonts.
Now we're sure your mind is already buzzing with ideas of all the cool covers you can design, but in case you still don't want to design your cover, Bloody Good Book offers 4 fabulous covers for you to choose. Find them on the Submit A Manuscript page.
