Synopsis

Everything happens for a reason?

Everybody has that one moment when you know nothing is going to be the same ever again. One part of your life ends and another begins. The changes that happen, better or worse happen so hard and fast that all you can do is hope for the best. These moments are the ones that make us who we are. I wouldn't be quite me without ‘my moment’. One minute – you are racing with the winds, smiling with joy and the next minute – you are on the ground, bruised, terrified and clueless and everything seems impractical. Cancer was like that. They say everything happens for a reason. I could not see any reason for me to be a part of this fight.

I never knew how it happened and why it happened. But I witnessed the worst nightmare and all I can do is tell you about it. So, Here I am!

Touching story, very fast and focussed. Author should take a little longer to develop the scenes more vividly. Perhaps the impatience of youth. Will appeal more to youngsters who want to get to the point right away. Nice.

This book about a girl fighting cancer seems like her diary that she writes noting all her experiences for the same...will definitely want to read more to know the actual outcome of this entire situation and also how she fights the dreaded disease of today-cancer....

Shweta. Hats off to you and your family. The penning of one's pain is like reliving the entire experience. It needs guts and it is clear that your have lots of them. The language is simple but conveys your feelings, experiences to the dot. You and your family are true fighters, hats off to you all. Eagerly waiting to read the entire book. God Bless.

I'd worked in a hospital before and seen plenty of cancer patients, even kids. Reading this account brought back those memories. Respect!
As a book, I feel the visual imagery a bit lacking...though descriptive enough, it's hard to conjure up mental images of the condition, the city, the hospitals, faces. But an inspirational story like this must be told. No sixteen year old should have to go through this! You're a survivor, Shweta!

I was very much interested to read the three chapters based on the synopsis and the beginning was quite interesting too. However, there is not much imagery. There is a lot of telling rather than showing and that is not what i would want as a reader. The story does not match up to the level of the synopsis.

It is written well - a journey that no one wants to go on but yet can happen to anyone, anytime. Want to know how the fight is. It also reads like a journal whereas we want to see the human aspect. How people change when they know we have cancer - for example the fat lady on the bench is a standout moment and would like to see more such examples.

I am glad that I had a chance to read this book. The strength, the hope & the courage to never give up no matter what happens is what makes us humans what we are today. All we need is the courage and the reason to believe that the life we are living right now is the only chance we got to prove ourself. If you feel that you have problems that are lot more important than this beautiful life, then I urge you to read this book and reconsider what you believe.
Nice book, really worth the read and is life changing for everyone.

Shweta's book, Here I am, touches every chord of your heart. It does make you wonder how unpredictable life is! However, the undying spirit of this girl makes her a winner. The chapters are poignant and close to the skin. It is a must read. Go Girl, you are a pillar of hope to millions out there.

It's really difficult to recall a difficult phase in our life in such an honest fashion. We tend to fit all the events into a single well summarised story which might be more palatable to us as well as others but it can be highly distorted from the real experience. What the author has done here is REMARKABLE! She provides us almost a day-to-day insight into her life when she was facing one of the worst nightmares one can imagine. It's all very REAL! And she still manages to make this book absolutely UNPUTDOWNABLE!
