Synopsis

It’s the dawn of the Industrial age in the bustling town of Greenhaven. An orphaned lass,

named Emma Taylor, struggles to rescue her family business from bankruptcy. The odds are heavily stacked against her, the reputation of Taylor family is on the decline, her clients have started losing faith, and someone is deviously sabotaging her business.

Emma’s only allies are her secret love , Bradley Bell— an influential man of means, Carol

Brooks—her best friend, and Mr. Roy—the sarcastic butler. The only problem is that her opponent is Henry Smith—otherwise known in the town as, the Devil. Emma begins to suspect Henry’s uninvited attention into her crumbling business, but the steps she takes to investigate leads to a vicious murder of a close one. As the murder count steadily increases, Emma’s previous title, ‘The cursed child’ is reinstated on her by the good people of Greenhaven. Emma is in over her head trying to fight against the crafty Henry Smith, clear her name from being prime suspect for two homicides, and also somehow manage to save the sinking Taylor Company. The fate of the Taylor family and business rests on her inexperienced shoulders, but Emma still has to face humiliation, experience heartbreak, live through abandonment, and savor the bitter taste of betrayal before she can manage to reach her goal . She has yet to learn that her friends, her foes, and her dreams were not what she had always believed. But most importantly, Emma Taylor

still has to experience what truly is, 'The Curse of Love'.

Loved all the three chapters. The imagery is great and your writing is very strong. The only thing that was lacking was description of Emma. I couldn't visualise her at all. But otherwise, I am a die hard fan of crime fiction and I have simply loved your story. Good job!
